A Space to Grow – A Place to Gather
-
- Camp Victory Ministries is launching a capital campaign to build a new Multi-Purpose Chapel Building that will seat 400 people. This facility will be a vital next step in the growth and sustainability of Camp Victory’s mission–to inspire people to trust and treasure Jesus Christ through community, worship, and adventure in a Christ-centered camp environment. The new chapel will be built on the cabin hill next to the amphitheatre, creating a central hub for worship, teaching, and indorr activities during both summer camps and year-round reatreats.
Why Now?
- 2006 Growth Model Works – But is Now Limiting Us:
-
- Camp Victory’s strategy was to grow with the ability to accommodate multiple small groups simultaneously to reach sustainable attendance. This has been highly successful, but we struggle to serve groups over 150 due to meeting space limitations.
- Current Facilities Limit Capacity:
-
- Camp sleeps 288 people. Our largest meeting space is the dining hall basement seating 150 people. The 8-foot ceilings have no natural lighting and feel gloomy and not a place of worship and joy.
- Running Out of Meeting Space Solutions:
-
- When summer camp and retreat groups exceed 150 people, seating becomes challenging. We attempt to use the recreation hall or dining hall for worship, but tearing down chairs for meals or games after each use or sharing space with other groups overextends staff and creates logistic difficulties.
- Governmental Approval to Expand Granted:
-
- 20 years of positive interaction and strong community support have achieved approval to expand to 500 beds. We may now grow facilities to meet demand. We must have the meeting space first before new beds.
- Debt Free:
-
- Through the generosity of donors in 2024, Camp Victory paid off $2.3 million in debt. We are committed to being debt free and believe now is the time to expand and strengthen our financial stability.
- Construction Costs & Paying Its Own Way to The Future:
-
- Over the past five years the cost of construction has doubled and threatens to continue to increase. Building now is crucial to funding success. We estimate that by the second year of completion, a new multi-purpose chapel will increase the number of large groups by ten, generating over $200,000 in additional revenue each year.
